Dr. Forest S. Kim, PhD, MBA, MHA, FACHE

Clinical Associate Professor, Hankamer School of Business, Baylor University

Forest S. Kim, PhD, MBA, MHA, FACHE is a Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Economics, Hankamer School of Business at Baylor University in Waco, Texas. He serves as the Executive Director of the Robbins Institute for Health Policy & Leadership and Co-Director of the Robbins Healthcare MBA.

From a program perspective, Dr. Kim is the only program director who has led teams to achieve a perfect accreditation score at two different programs – the University of Incarnate Word Master in Health Administration program in 2018 and Baylor University’s Robbins Healthcare MBA in 2023 – representing two of the four programs who have ever done so in CAHME’s history. Under his leadership, the Army-Baylor Master in Health & Business Administration program achieved the maximum accreditation length of 7-years with only two partially met criteria.

From CAHME’s perspective, Dr. Kim is a CAHME Fellow who began serving on site visits in 2013. As a fellow, he has served as both site visit chair and team member. He is a former CAHME Board Chair and has served on the Board since 2019.

Dr. Kim has served as an accreditation consultant and has participated on several national panels and symposia related to competency assessment with two peer-reviewed publications on this topic.

Dr. Kim graduated as a Distinguished Military Graduate from UCLA in 1995 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Physiological Sciences and was commissioned through the Reserve Officer Training Corps. His academic credentials include a Ph.D. in Health Services Research from the University of Washington, a Master of Health Care Administration from Baylor University, a Master of Business Administration from the University of Texas at San Antonio, and a Master of Arts in Organizational Leadership from Chapman University. Dr. Kim is an Army veteran who served 22 years on active duty as a health care administrator and educator. He is also a Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE).
