Dr. Laurie L. Shanderson is President and CEO of the Knoxville Area Urban League, where she leads initiatives that promote economic empowerment, education, and workforce equity. A seasoned higher education and accreditation executive with nearly 30 years of academic and administrative experience, she previously served as Chancellor of Methodist College and Founding Dean of the School of Health Sciences at Northcentral University, where she guided strategic planning, institutional growth, and multiple programmatic and regional accreditations. A Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE), Dr. Shanderson is a published scholar and national presenter recognized for her expertise in accreditation, leadership, and organizational effectiveness. She is the host of the Accreditation Insights podcast, which features conversations with national and international leaders on accreditation, higher education policy, and quality assurance. Dr. Shanderson serves on the University of Memphis School of Public Health Healthcare Leadership Community Advisory Group and is a founding member of the Health Information and Informatics Section of the American Public Health Association.
