The CAHME Mentorship Circle (CMC) is an opportunity for model programs to mentor other programs who are seeking continuous quality improvement or accreditation.
Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Belonging
University of Phoenix
CMC Project
The University of Phoenix will share its practices to bolster strength in building compassion and empathy for the diverse healthcare management field. These include an annual Inclusive Leadership Summit and an ‘Inclusive Cafe’ as well as a program specific three course unit that focuses on building empathy.

Cornell will produce a CAHME-hosted webinar to share best practices to recruit underrepresented minorities and to improve diversity in the student body.

The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill will share approaches for how to avance diversity and inclusion in healthcare management education. In addition, they will develop materials to help programs in the areas of healthcare finance.

Competency Models
Dalhousie University

As one of the first programs to adapt LEADS as a competency model for CAHME Accreditation, Dalhousie University plans to share the lessons they have learned and continue to learn in the process. LEADS is a global framework that should enable Dalhousie University to mentor programs around the world as they adopt the model and approach CAHME Accreditation.

Baylor University

Baylor University’s current program leaders will continue to assist CAHME in serving as mentors to other healthcare programs and provide guidance in areas such as the Executive Leadership series, core competency assesment process, and case competition development.
Baylor is also one of the intial participants in joint accreditation with the AACSB and CAHME.

University of Minnesota

The University of Minnesota will mentor programs specifically on comprehensive curriculum review to align courses, objectives, and competencies with what is needed in the profession. Additionally, they share best practices including how the program “de-briefs” with students each semester, post-graduation surveys, and preceptor surveys.
University of Iowa

The University of Iowa will share best practice on the relationship between its mission, competency model, and competency assessment. Additionally they participated in the 2020 CAHME white paper around competency assessment approaches.

The University of Incarnate Word will in conjunction with CAHME to produce a webinar to share their best practices in competency development and assessment. Also providing participants with documents and examples.

George Washington University

The University of George Washington has shared their competency mapping system and process with another CAHME accredited MHA programs. Additionally, they will produce in collaboration with CAHME a webinar or joint discussion video meeting to provide a “best practice” case study. This would be an opportunity to learn together ways to improve and would provide direction and discussion to other programs with interest in expanding their competency measurement capabilities.
Xavier University
CMC Project
Xavier University developed a competency model and is working with their programs to ensure that the model can be adopted across programs. Additionally, Xavier will produce a CAHME-hosted webinar showing how to apply for CAHME /Canon Solutions America award, outlining approaches and not just how to win the award, but how to create a sustainable culture.

University of Michigan

The University of Michigan will work with peer programs in the mid-west to develop a research mentorship program between senior and junior faculty.
Additionally, the University of Michigan will develop a best practice case on integrating health management and health policy education. They will present best practice case on the summer enrichment programs.

Additionally they will host an annual webinar with CAHME for programs interested in improving their professional development services. The University of Miami is working with CAHME to help create better ties to the MBA programs in healthcare management by continuing to lend their help and support in creating joint site visits with AACSB to accredit MBA programs easier. Additionally, the University of Miami’s Herbert Business School Healthcare Management initiative called “The Business of Healthcare” conference. The 2021 conference was the 10th annual conference, which focused on global approaches to healthcare problems.
