Dr. David Nash is the Dr Raymond C. and Doris N. Grandon Professor of Health Policy and the Founding Dean Emeritus of the Jefferson College of Population Health. He has been on the full- time faculty at Jefferson for 35 years. He has made significant contributions to improving health care in the nation through his work. His research and teaching to improve the quality and safety of medical care has helped to build an ecosystem of scholarship, and leadership, to reduce harm and improve outcomes. His work in population health brought national attention to the social determinants of health and led in part to the creation of the nation’s first College of Population Health.  He has written or edited 25 books and published over 200 papers. He has received three honorary degrees, and delivered a dozen endowed lectures both in the US and overseas.  Finally, he received the first ever “Lifetime Achievement Award” from the American Association of Physician Leaders, the most important organization focused on leadership training for physicians in the country.
