Lynn T. Downs is currently an Associate Tenured Professor in the H-B-B School of Business and Administration, Department of Health Administration at the University of the Incarnate Word. She retired in 2018 from the United States Navy after serving 28 years as a Health Care Administrator in the Medical Service Corps. She served as a healthcare practitioner in various administrative roles throughout her Naval Career. Some positions include manager of mid-sized overseas clinic, department head at a large teaching hospital, senior administrator for all east coast fleet assets, and headquarters staff in charge of all east coast human resources. Prior to retirement she served as deputy director and assistant professor for the Army-Baylor Graduate Program in Health and Business Administration.  Lynn is a Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) and past Regent for Central and South Texas. She is a Fellow and current Chair of the Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Management Education (CAHME) Accreditation Council as well as member of several other CAHME committees.  She has served in several leadership committee roles for the Association of University Programs in Health Administration (AUPHA) and currently serves on the JHAE editorial board.
