Ron Holder is the Chair of the CAHME Board of Directors, having served on the CAHME Board since 2019. He is the Chief Administrative Officer of the Hendrick Clinic and the Hendrick Anesthesia Network with Hendrick Health system in Abilene, TX. Previously, he was the Chief Operating Officer of the Medical Group Management Association (MGMA) for five years. Before joining MGMA, he worked in academic and health system leadership for twenty-four years, fifteen of which was with Baylor Scott & White.  The last eight he was Vice-President of the Temple Region where he was responsible for executive, financial, and operational leadership of the practices and hospital functions of over 230 physicians and 90 APPs.  In this role he was also responsible for the cardiovascular and oncology service lines throughout the entire Central Texas Division.  Ron’s early career was spent in progressive leadership roles with academic medicine departments at the University of Louisville and University of Kentucky. He holds a Master’s Degree in Health Administration and a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology from the University of Kentucky. He is a Fellow of the American College of Medical Practice Executives, a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives, and a Certified Association Executive. He was recognized by MGMA as a Distinguished Leader, a Lifetime Fellow, and won a C-Suite award from the Denver Business Journal. As a published author and sought-after speaker, he has contributed to healthcare administration literature and been featured in Forbes, CNN, and other media outlets on medical practice leadership. He served on the MGMA Board of Directors including a year as Board Chair. He is an Eagle Scout and was a volunteer scout leader, basketball coach, and baseball coach for well over a decade while his children were younger.
