Applications Now Open for Two CAHME Awards

CAHME celebrates students and CAHME accredited programs who exemplify our mission of advancing the quality of healthcare management education. Award recipients receive a scholarship or grant, recognition in CAHME and partner media, complimentary tickets and accommodations at the awards ceremony at ACHE, and a physical award to commemorate their achievement.

The CAHME/The Joint Commission Fellowship Award is a one-year fellowship beginning July 1, 2025. Applications are due by September 27. ,2024. Click here to learn more.

State of CAHME Spotlight: Accreditation Enhancements

Lynn Downs, PhD, MBA, FACHE, Chair of Accreditation Council, Associate Professor, University of the Incarnate Word, discusses the following:

  • Readiness checklist to ensure programs are prepared for their upcoming site visit.
  • Syllabi worksheets to streamline syllabi review. 
  • Educational sessions for candidate programs and programs preparing for accreditation/reaccreditation.
  • A policy for determining a virtual site visit.
  • Substantive change process improvements.
  • Integration of the annual report data with the self study guide (dynamic figures).
  • Using existing annual report data, new reporting functionality to examine trends in the changing healthcare management education environment.  

Candidacy Process Roundtable (CPR) Educational Series

CAHME’s Program Development team kicked off another round of CPRs on July 22. This was the first in a series of six planned sessions for programs preparing to submit a Candidacy application at the upcoming due date, with over 20 participants and 17 programs.
