The 7th annual CAHME Awards are open to all CAHME-accredited programs and Certified Healthcare Quality and Safety programs. Recipients will be honored during ACHE Congress on March 28-31, 2022 and are acknowledged in the January 2022 edition of Modern Healthcare. These students and programs reflect our mission of advancing the quality of healthcare management education.


The CAHME/Canon Solutions America Award for Sustainability in Healthcare Management Education
This award recognizes programs that incorporate the ideals of sustainability and social responsibility in healthcare management education and practice. Programs need to demonstrate how they use cultural competency, community involvement, environmental focus, sustainability in curriculum, student experiential opportunities and alumni involvement.

The CAHME/George and Regi Herzlinger Innovation Education Award
This national award honors George and Regi Herzlinger’s breakthrough contributions in creating and inspiring medical innovations that changed patients’ lives and helped entrepreneurs globally.   It recognizes the significant impact that CAHME Accredited programs can have in providing the foundation in the principles of innovation for future leaders to be the change needed in healthcare.

The CAHME/Dawn Gideon Foundation Scholarship
This award honors Dawn Gideon, who devoted her career to helping healthcare organizations succeed. The scholarship is targeted to supporting women pursuing advanced education in healthcare management and who have demonstrated a commitment to communities in need.

The CAHME/Judy Baar Topinka Foundation Scholarship 
This award for Health Policy is named in memory Judy Baar Topinka, who dedicated herself to a lifetime of public service to the people of the State of Illinois. This year, the award recognizes a student who served the community around COVID-19.

The CAHME/Tim Campbell Scholarship 
This award is in memory of Tim Campbell, a CAHME board member who personified a commitment to service and volunteerism. The scholarship is targeted to supporting student leaders who selflessly act to help others in the process of advancing the quality of healthcare.
